Driven to Serve – An Emergency Medical Technician Success Story!

Two days before the school had closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Michael Ramirez completed his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course at North Valley Occupational Center, an LA Unified Division of Adult and Career Education campus. Michael was proud to finish his course, but that was not good enough; he wanted to pass his national certifying exam so he could start serving his community as an EMT immediately. The problem was that, as a result of COVID-19, all the exam sites were closed, too. Michael could have sat back and waited, but instead he kept searching for an available site. When one reopened in Los Angeles, he got there as quickly as he could and now Michael is an officially licensed EMT, ready to serve his community during these troubling times. Congratulations Michael!
