Bringing Home the Gold!

Despite the unprecedented circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, 26 LA Unified Adult Education (LA Unified Adult) students competed in the 54th Annual SkillsUSA Regional Championships. Collectively the students, who competed, in categories ranging from culinary arts to welding, won 1 bronze, 6 sliver and 19 gold medals! All our competitors are advancing to the state competition, scheduled for April 2021.

LA Unified Adult honors North Valley Occupational Center, Slawson Southeast Occupational Center, and Venice Skills Center for encouraging their students to compete during these most difficult of times and providing them with the assistance they need to do so. We joyfully support their efforts. We also would like to congratulate our students, not only for winning so many medals, but for believing in themselves and having the courage to take the journey. We couldn’t be prouder!
