SkillsUSA Regional Leadership and Skills Conference

Los Angeles Unified Adult Education continues to partner with SkillsUSA, a national nonprofit organization serving middle school, high school and post-secondary students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations. Through this partnership, students, teachers and industry work together to ensure that America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA empowers its members to become world-class workers, leaders and responsible American citizens. SkillsUSA improves the quality of our nation’s future skilled workforce through the development of framework skills that include personal, workplace and technical skills grounded in academics.

This year’s regional leadership and skills conference runs from January through February 2022. LA Unified Adult is proud to support our six participating schools: Abram Friedman Occupational Center, Maxine Waters Employment Preparation Center, North Valley OC, Richard N. Slawson Southeast Occupational Center, Venice Skills Center, and West Valley Occupational Center. A total of 34 LA Unified Adult students competed in an array of categories. Congratulations to our students for attaining: 17 gold, 7 silver, and 4 bronze Medals. All 34 students will advance to the state competition at the Ontario Convention Center in April 2022.
