Brian Gomes graduates Powerline and joins the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)

“ELASC has given me the opportunity to pursue a career in the Powerline trade that not only provides a good living for my family and me, but also, a career that I can be proud of doing. The Skills Center provided a safe place to learn the skills I needed to get into the trade. It instilled in me a sense of excitement and pride for my job that I have never had with any previous jobs.

Mr. Estrada, my instructor, taught me the value of hard work and self-discipline. He challenged me to push myself, both physically and mentally, and showed me that I am capable of doing more than I ever thought I could.

Because of the certificates I earned at ELASC, I was able to sign the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) union books and am currently working for a powerline company as a groundsman while pursuing an apprenticeship.

I am extremely grateful to ELASC and Mr. Estrada for all that they have done for me.”

Congratulations Brian!
